How much to spend on engagement ring – My story

Click Here to get the book that helped me get the biggest rock for as cheap as possible.

When a guy decides to get engaged to the person he loves it’s usually a great day until he tries to rack his brain around how much to spend on engagement ring.  I know that’s what I was thinking.

So I went around asking my friends who were already married, and what I got was answers that really didn’t help at all. Some said the ring should be about 2 month salary (yeah right), another friend told me to shell out the big bucks and pay it off, it will be worth it when you see the smile from your wife’s face (which will disappear soon after you get married and you’re in major debt).

So I was pretty down didn’t know what to do, wasn’t getting anywhere real fast. That was until I was googling my ass off trying to get as much info as possible, when I stumbled across this e-book, I was like what the heck I’ll check it out, so I got the  Engagement Ring Secrets. I couldn’t even start to tell you how much this book has helped me with purchasing the best possible ring within my budget. Not only did my ring have most of the four C’s (cut, clarity, color, carat), but I found great ring settings, ring design and a whole diamond market I would of never taught of looking into.

This book truly helped me give my wife a ring she wasn’t embarrass to show off and you know the saying “Happy Wife Happy Life”.  So if your stuck and need help you should give this great book a try. Click Here to check it out.

20 Century Engagements

Just a little history on engagements in the 20th century.

In the 20th century, if he could afford it, the typical Western groom privately selected and purchased an engagement ring, which he then presented to his desired bride when he proposed marriage. More recently, couples frequently select an engagement ring together. In countries where both partners wear engagement rings, matching rings may be selected and purchased together.[3] In the United States and Canada, where only women commonly wear engagement rings, women occasionally present their partners with an engagement ring.[4]

Like all jewelry, the price for an engagement ring can vary considerably depending on the materials used, the design of the ring, whether it includes a gemstone, the value of any gemstone, and the seller. The idea that a man should spend two to three months’ personal wages for an engagement ring originated from De Beers marketing materials in the early 20th century, in an effort to increase the sale of diamonds.[2] In 2007, the average cost of an engagement ring in USA as reported by the industry was US$2,100.[5]

The price of the gemstones, if any, in the ring depends on the type and quality of the gem. Diamonds have a standardized description that values them according to their carat weight, color, clarity and cut. Other gemstones, such as sapphires, rubies, moissanite, emeralds, have different systems. These may be chosen to honor a family tradition, to use family heirlooms, to be unique, to be socially responsible, to fit the individual’s stylistic preferences, or to manage cost. Synthetic stones and diamond substitutes such as cubic zirconias are also popular choices that reduce cost while maintaining the desired appearance.
